Walker Evans – Aperture Masters of Photography Series
Walker Evans, an American photographer, is well known for his photographic documentation on the effects of the Great Depression for the Farm Security Administration. Much of his work includes candid photos of people in America during this time, and greatly encapsulates the emotions of the subject.
Tasked to design a brochure for a Masters of Photography Series, my decision to use Walker Evans as a subject stems from my desire to learn more about the raw and candid emotions he was able to capture in his work. In my solution I saught to create dynamic compositions that best showcased the work, as well as a color and type palette that represented the era.
